Snapping your fingers at your chest level
Tapping your thigh or hip, then chest with your palm
Making a sharp, not loud, vocal sound such as a short ‘shh’
Using a toy or ball to get your dog’s attention
Once you get your dog’s attention, you have about one second to let him know what you wanted his attention for.
If you snap your fingers at your chest level and your dog looks up at you don’t freeze, quickly let him know what you want from him. If you want him to sit, snap your fingers at your chest level, and as soon as he looks up at you, sharply say “SIT”.
Our Training method
The training method we use depends on your dog, what kind of behavior problems they have and what will work for them. What one dog responds to might not be the same case for another so we focus on each dog as individuals. Understanding your dog is one of the the first things we will focus on begin any of our training programs.
They Say About Us
Laura and Eman changed our fur babies for the better. They went in as overly hyper pups and came out knowing more than we could have ever imagined! Going on walks and even laying on the couch with them used to be impossible, but now it’s something we can actually enjoy doing. Knowing how to behave around our kids was crucial for us, and Laura and Eman made sure to tackle that right away. Investing in our dogs was a great choice, but choosing K9 Etiquette as our trainers was the best decision we could’ve ever made! We can’t thank you guys enough! ❤️

We are so glad we decided to send coco for the 4 week bootcamp with you guys. Its so easy to walk with him, at restaurants the place works like a charm and everyone passing by only has one thing to say- "such a good boy". We can walk and play with him offleash. My worst nightmare about sending coco for a bootcamp was that his personality might change but you guys gave him the home like experience and the only thing that changed about him was that he became disciplined but his personality hasnt changed.

My husband and I adopted our dog in April of 2018 and quickly realized that he needed training to become the best dog he could be. He came from the streets of Puerto Rico following Hurricane Irma and with that experience made him a very scared dog. He heard about Emmanuel and Laura and K9 Etiquette through a coworker and immediately set up an appointment to meet them. Right away we could sense that they were an amazing duo who have dedicated their lives to helping dogs who needed a push to reach their full potential. Our dog Rico was scared of everything- cars, people, kids- you name it. He was a mess on the leash and was very stubborn. A couple of weeks after we enrolled him with K9 Etiquette we had our first session. The change we saw in him was AMAZING. As hard as it was not having him home with us every night, we immediately knew we had made the right decision. Shortly after, he was back home with us and I have never gotten as many compliments with a dog as I have with Rico. Any place we take him he is always on his best behavior. We are always being told how well-trained he is. We recently just took our first road trip with him and he exceeded all expectations. Laura and Emmanuel have been a blessing for our family. They are quick with responses and answered any questions we had after Rico was back home with us. I highly recommend K9 Etiquette for any training one might need for their dogs. We will definitely be leaving him again for any boarding we might need in the future. I know Rico is at home, safe, and having a blast when in their care.
I wanted to express our thanks for the amazing work that you’ve done with our great Pyrenees rescue puppy, Luna.
I knew from the first time that we met with you in your office that our puppy was in good hands. I could see immediately the love that you have for the animals that you work with and they sense it too! We decided to enroll Luna in the month long puppy training that you offer and, although she is still a very excited puppy she has shown so much improvement on her self-control and is so much more disciplined. She doesn’t try and run away immediately when she sees a door open. She holds her sit, place and stay like a trooper now!
Of course, being so young there are things that we still have to work with her on a daily basis but that is to be expected as training is not a one time thing it’s a lifetime thing! But we continue to see improvement and would never have been able to get her to the point that she is today without K-9 Etiquette!
Thank you again for training her, and for boarding her. She so looks forward to those trips back to you guys and your beautiful family, and we know without a doubt that she is in good hands!
We rescued Ruth from a shelter and after 3 weeks of bringing her home she started showing signs of aggression towards people. We live in NY so avoiding people became an impossible task and not only that we could not control her. When we she would act aggressive we would have to run home and hope she would calm down. We felt hopeless and when we called the shelter they told us they would have to put her down. We are big animal people and this was not an option for us.
When we heard about K-9 Etiquette and the amazing results on aggression cases we knew we had to call them. They told us she needed the 8 week program and that she would be a difficult case. Every time we came to Miami to do a session with her we could see the amazing progress. She was no longer pulling the lease and lunging at people and with one command she would calm down. Now she is back home and I can honestly say I never thought she would be this calm and peaceful. She no longer jumps and lunges at people, rather she is confident and understands people will not hurt her. K-9 Etiquette taught her how to be a confident and calm dog. Moreover, they gave us the tools we needed to be the best owners for her. Now she goes to work us and plays with 50 plus employees. We are so grateful for K-9 Etiquette for saving her and giving her a second chance. We highly recommend K-9 Etiquette they provide real results and real lifestyle training. We will continue to stay in touch and bring other dogs to them in the future. By far the best trainers!!!

I am so proud of ranger.... he has spent the last month in doggie bootcamp with "e_dogman "Laura_k9etiquette amazing trainers! THE best! He is almost at the end of his training and yesterday we got to see him fo r the first time in person in over a month... I was so amazed at how much he has learned and grown... he was able to sit in his spot like 30 min without being allowed to say hi to us and completely controlled his emotions... I know that was tough for him! But you could tell he was a different Ranger now. I am so thankful for the work that his trainers have been able to do with him... truly O knew we needed help from a trainer but now I see the importance of a professional because what they are able to accomplish is outstanding!! He will have his at home session this upcoming week and he will finally be home. Go follow their work which really is not work but their passion and you see it !! They live it!
When Khaleesi, our one year old Cane Corso attacked Oreo, our tiny shih tzu, we new we needed help. K9 Etiquette came highly recommended. We put her through the one month boot camp. At first it was hard to send baby for that long however, our minds came at ease when we saw how loving the K9 Etiquette team was to all their students. They kept in contact with us at at all times, gave us frequent updates of her success and we were even able to track her progress through social media. Khaleesi came back home and her behavior towards Oreo has drastically changed, she is more obedient and is no longer aggressive towards other dogs. We are so happy we chose to send her to K9 Etiquette! Thank you, for all your love and dedication to our fur baby.
I can’t thank Laura and Emmanuel enough for the incredible transformation our Cash underwent in their 4 week program. To think that a few weeks ago my husband and I were contemplating whether we were going to have to give up Cash. See Cash got too big too fast and we weren’t able to control his agitation. We were unable to take him out with the family or have our children interact with him. I wish I had a before video of Cash pulling me in through their warehouse on the first day.. Because it’s hard to believe that he’s come this far. After graduating from their program, Cash is the pet we always dreamed he’d be. Just a few days after returning to the home my kids have already established such a strong bond with him. It’s incredible for my three year old who was once petrified of his large size to engage with him and feel safe and comfortable around him. Laura and Emmanuel are amazing and extremely knowledgeable at what they do. It’s clear that this is their passion and it has been a pleasure to have them guide us through this experience. They kept us informed of Cash’s progress throughout the entire program and were so helpful in teaching us their skills. Again, we are so grateful to have found K9 Etiquette and would recommend their services 110%.
I cant stop saying thank you for what you and your team has done. We are still learning his body language and doing what we have to do to help him on his training ???? my baby Max.
